The Double-Twist machine consists of a welded housing, the single rotor built from carbon fiber, the reel-cradle with traversing unit and pneumatically operated pintles. The reel is lifted by a hydraulic powered
elevator, two drives are provided for the rotor and the reel, the traversing is driven by rollring gearing. The lay-length control is built up from a digital electronic shaft, the cable is directly wound on the
reel. Machines up from 1000 mm reel diameter have additionally an electric driven capstan which is controlling the laylength. The operators desk gives full control over parameters like Rotor-speed, laylength
and production length. A LCD text-display provides messages to guide the operator and to detect electric faults with direct references. The machine is controlled by a PLC-control, which is located in the main
cabinet together with the drive-converters, power-supply, fuses etc. The machine is delivered completely wired and tested, startup time approx. 3 days.
